O-M-G!!!!!!

O-M-G!!!!!

Listening to the conversation outside of my window is making me YEARN for college.
Some women, who is either joking or dead serious, claims to be some guy's 'ho. The guy continues to call her a 'hoe, and she proudly proclaims that she has pride in her pussy.... -_- Really??? She looks like she could be someone's mother, auntie, and nowadays, grandma. Smh. Terrible.

Last night some woman was yelling at her child, like the kid was some random dude on the street. "MUTHERFUCKER GO UPSTAIRS."
"MUTHERFUCKER STOP FUCKIN' CRYING"
"UUHHHH YOU GET ON MY FUCKIN' NERVES MAN"
"THE BABY ACTS BETTER THAN YOU, STOP FUCKIN' CRYING"

Mind you, the little boy is FIVE YEARS OLD!!!!! This is how parents lose their kids, and kids end up with emotional/behavioral issues. CPS anyone?

Besides the neighborhood bullshit, I'm just ready to get the hell outta here. Lol. Although I'm going to miss my mom's cooking and hanging out with my friends, there are a few things I'm DEFINITELY not gonna miss.

  • Having my mother or grandmother waking me up in the morning. (I'm 18, I think I am old enough to know when to wake up or use an alarm clock.)
  • People yelling, screaming, and talking loud outside at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT!!!! (Like they are doing RIGHT NOW -_-)
  • Being my parents personal slave. ('Nuff said)
  •
  • Seeing the same people on the corner all the time!! (Do they have homes??!!)
  •
  • Being in the Ville!
  •
  • Being at my high school!!!
  •
  • Paying $11.50 for a movie when it's $7 in my college town.
  •
  • Paying $8 or more for the Chinese Restaurant to deliver when they'll deliver for $5 for my college!
  •
  • Paying about $10.00 or more on laundry when it's FREE @ college. (Well, it's included in the tuition)
  •
  • Telling my parents where I'm going, who I'm with, what I'm doing, and what time I'll be home. (-_-)
  •
  • Having men, who are old enough to be my daddy, stare at me like I'm a piece of lemon cake.
  •
  • Being at home doing nothing.

The list keeps going on and on, but ya'll catch my drift. I know there are some things I didn't mention so feel free to drop a comment about what you won't miss about home, or what you didn't miss about home when you were in college. or hell, just leave a comment. Lol

Well, it's getting late and The Real World is about to come on, so as always...

Until my next post, Be blessed and make sure your LEGACY is like no other.

Soundtrack of My Life

Good evening bloggers!!!

Recently, I've been listening to the radio more often. I'm studying up on what makes a good radio show so I can hopefully one day become a radio personality, among other things. Plus, that's my only source of entertainment at work other than my coworkers occasionally bantering back and forth. After listening to various radio shows for about 2 weeks straight I just have one question.....

Why is it that everybody and they mama wanna make a break up song when you and your significant other broke up or have recently broken up? Or better yet, why do old break up songs just so happen to play on the radio a little more often than normal after a break up? I don't understand it. It's like some magical music fairy flutters in and out of the lives of fans, then reports it to artists so they can make a song out of it. Give me a break!

And what makes it worse is that each song has a specific memory attached to it. You got the songs that remind you of the good times you and your ex had, the songs that remind you of why ya'll broke up in the first place, the songs you can picture him dedicating to you (good, bad, or indifferent), and the songs that help you heal when everything is said and done. It's as if suddenly the radio, or rather songs on the radio, become the soundtrack of your life. Coincidence? HA! I think not. -_-

I don't know about ya'll, but here's the current soundtrack of my life: (not in any particular order):

  1. Fantasia- Bittersweet
  2. Trey Songz- Can't Be Friends
  3. Marques Houston- Circles
  4. Chrisette Michele- Be Ok
  5. Chrisette Michele- Porcelain Doll
  6. Eminem Feat. Rhianna- Love the Way You Lie
  7. Chris Brown- Deuces
  8. Maguel feat. J Cole: All I Want Is You
  9. Fantasia- Ain't Gone Beg
  10.  Fantasia- Free Yourself
  11. Fantasia- Got Me Waiting
  12. Trey Songz- Hatin' Love
  13. Kelly Clarkson- Since You Been Gone
  14. NeYo- Part of the List
  15. NeYo- So You Can Cry
  16. Tamia- Me
  17. Ciara- So Hard
  18. LL Cool J feat. Jennifer Lopez- All I Have
  19. TLC- No Scrubs
  20. Amerie- More than Love
  21. Amerie- Why R U
  22. Trey Songz- Neighbor's Know My Name
  23. Beyonce- Halo
  24. Jordin Sparks- Battlefield
  25. Nicki Minaj- Good Love
  26. Mary J. Blidge- Not Goin' Cry
  27. Faith Evans- You Used to Love Me
  28. Michael Jackson- Man in the Mirror
Some people may think that this post is pointless and insignificant, but I know I'm not the only one who feels like this. So feel free to add more songs to the list, or take it one step further and post the current soundtrack of your life.

Whether we all realize it or not, music can effect, inspire, and change people's lives. You don't know who's life you can help by adding songs to this list. Someone might read this post, download a song, and finally feel understood; finally feel like the pain or struggle they are going through isn't too much to bear.

Now, I know this might sound a little extreme, but you never know what's going on behind a person's smile, or in this case, email address/blog alias.

Until my next post, Be Blessed and make sure your LEGACY is like no other.

The Highlight of My Day

Afternoon bloggers,

So, I'm @ work right, and my boss asked me to edit some papers for him. After I completed said task, I decided to browse twitter, even though I really don't see the point in twitter. The trending topic was #irememberwhen. As I read the responses, one post caught my attention, and had me crackin' up like I was at home watchin' Martin instead of in an office doing paperwork. This guy wrote
#irememberwhen I could call a girl precious without insulting her.
LMFAO!!!! Who writes stuff like that?!

Although this is wrong on SOOO many different levels, it does have some truth to it. Plus it's funny as hell! LMAO (Sigh) It's a sad day when a comment on twitter is the highlight of my day. Smh. Bordem is a deadly sin. I can't wait to go back to college.

Well, just wanted to share that with you. If you have your own highlight of the day and would like to share, feel free to drop a comment.

Until my next post, Be Blessed and make sure your LEGACY is like no other. :-D

Back with a JUMP OFF!!!!

Hey everyone,

Sorry for my inconsistent posts. I just got back from college not too long ago, (gotta go back August 26 :-D) and my Internet has been meessing up at home, so if and when I get a chance to post an entry, it'll probably be from work, which is where I'm currently at right now. Lol

Since no one had anything for me to do at work, I decided to check out VIBE magazine's website. I came across an article about Laurence Fishburne's daughter, Montana Fishburne. (Just in case y'all haven't heard, Miss Fishburne has a sex tape out.{GASP!!}) If you're interested in checking it out, she goes under the porn alias Chippy D. Everyone is talking about it, so I thought it would be nice to get her perspective. Needless to say, I thought wrong. When I read her comments about the tape, my heart sank.

According to VIBE's article, she is following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian. (-_-) She saw how Kardashian's sex tape brought her fame and success, so she hopes this sex tape can do the same for her. (SMH) I guess she hasn't recently reviewed the success of her father, Lawerence Fishburne. Either that, or she just doesn't care.

I realize that everyone has to spread their wings to fly, and find their own way in life, but damn, does she have to idolize Kim Kardashian in that respect? Montana is a prime example of what idolizing these video vixens, or JUMP OFF's can do to the young ladies and little girls in society. Where are the power house female MC's, actresses, or hell even neighbor mentors that females, such as Montana, can look up to? Better yet, why haven't these females taken advantage of the programs out there that are designed for female empowerment? (SIGH)

I guess everyone has to learn at their own expense. I mean, look at Karrine Steffans, aka Superhead. She started out as a jump off. She messed around with celebs left and right, lived out of her car with her son, and popped drugs like pills, as if she needed Avil. But now she's a couple's instructor and a best selling author of 3 books. (Ain't God good?) Hopefully, Montana can make the same transformation as Steffans, or at least get the fame she so desires, because quite frankly, success is more than just producing a sex tape. Then again, success is in the eye of the beholder. If things don't go as planned, hopefully it'll be a lesson learned. Regardless of the former or the latter, no matter what happens in her future she will always be reminded of her past, and that's something she will never be able to change. For more info about Karrine Steffans and/or Montana Fishburne, check out the websites below.
