Okay... My boyfriend and I just had a mini debate about teenage girls and pregnancy...
He believes that if a girl around our age or younger (18 years or younger) gets pregnant, she's fast. His reason was that she just is...
I believe that if that same girl gets pregnant, it can be either that she IS fast OR that she just so happened to get pregnant. Although being fast can be a possibility, the condom could've broke, she could have forgotten to take her pill on time, or perhaps in a moment of passion she and her boyfriend decided to not use protection. Shoot, if teenage girls who get pregnant are fast, what are teenagers who are having sex in general considered to be? Why should the pregnant girl be coined as fast or automatically get a bad rep?
When you think about it, things can't be so cut and dry all the time. There are some shades of gray between the black and white areas if you look hard enough.

No. Pregnant does not equal fast. Pregnant is pregnant. And fast doesn't always equal sex.
Outside of the original intent to show physical love and receive pleasure, sex was made for procreation. Us being silly/practical, go above and beyond to reverse it and get 1 or 2 out of 3 [never 3 which = baby] .... for now. The real debate that teens and adults should consider is: What does God say about sex outside of marriage? Is it just an impossible task or are there serious reasons why we should wait?

Mmmh! Thanks for the insight. As far as sex outside of marriage goes and what God says,I think people can wait to have sex until their married... It just depends on the person and their morals. I wonder how everyone else feels about it...
I think every situation can and will be different from one teenage girl to the other. In order to gain a fair assessment I believe each and every teenage pregnancy case will have to be examined, which is nearly impossible.
If I just had to say if teenage pregnancy equaled being fast I'd say NO. Irresponsible would be a better word.
Don, Irresponsiblity is a better word for it. But, what if you are being responsible? You're partner is wearing a condom and as female your on the pill but you still manage to end up pregnant. What's the about? (Sigh) I guess your right; every situation can and will be different from one teenage girl to the other. And also, shit just happens. A girl/woman who carelessly becomes pregnant may be irresponsible, but not necessarily "fast."

Nah. I wouldn't categorize this scenario as being irresponsible. Probably unfortunate, depending on how it's perceived. But definitely not lacking responsibility.

@ Living Fly on a dime, good point about how the male who impregnated her is perceived. We always talk about the woman and not enough about the man. Unfortunately, some men don't feel responsible for unplanned pregnancies. They feel it's the female's fault because she should have been more careful. Mmmh! Ain't that a blip?
@ Don, yea, unfortunate would probably be the better word. And no, it's not a personal post. However; I've heard stories about couples using protection and getting pregnant anyway.

Exactly, I believe it's more irresponsible than fast. Though, there are a lot of fast girls (AND Guys) and they don't have children. So being fast isn't 100% the reason for having a child. Some girls want to have a baby. Maybe the girl has issues where she feels unloved and feel that the baby will be the only thing she can love and will love her back.
That's a possiblity to Nicey... I guess it's like my title says, this situation is more than just a black and white scenario.
